Champion recently participated in several programs during the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Annual Conference in New Orleans. It was an interesting and informative week, and we were excited to share leading insights with colleagues from across the industry.
Mat Bryant, VP, Southeast, was Contractor representative at the Conference’s Bridge Coatings Forum, alongside representatives from various transportation agencies and leading experts in the bridge industry. Topics included corrosion protection, coatings, challenges in bridge preservation, and issues facing our nation’s infrastructure.
Mat also hosted the Conference’s Construction Technical Community of Interest, featuring contractors, owners, manufacturers, consultants, and industry representatives (across bridge, oil, gas, marine, rail, etc.) discussing new and emerging technologies, plus topics such as production, equipment, labor force, training, materials, and quality control.
Meanwhile, Director of Operations, Declan Farrington, and Superintendent Milan Ivankov participated in the presentation, “Case History from Four Viewpoints”. The four viewpoints presented were Owner/Engineer, Contractor, Inspector and Coating Manufacturer, as speakers discussed a specific case history within the water/wastewater market (the Ward’s Island Wastewater Facility Digester Tanks reconstruction project for the NYC Department of Environmental Protection).
Overall, the event provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration – and a chance for Champion to see and share information to help our industry (and company) continue to improve, grow and succeed.
