Carlos M. Hernandez
President

Carlos Hernandez, president of Champion Painting Specialty Services Corp. (CPSSC),  CPSSC is a leader in heavy construction, specialty services, road and bridge, military, and industrial specialty services. Hernandez and his organization are firmly committed to their mission of delivering high-performance services to the public and private sectors while always maintaining the highest degree of safety, quality, and integrity.

 

As president, Hernandez is involved with guiding business development and networking of relationships and supports sales, estimating, project management, staffing, and partnerships. He believes that team members are the backbone of the organization and leans into staff development, and does so by ensuring that his teams are well trained and possess the tools to be successful. Hernandez leads the Senior Executive Team in growth programs for their vice presidents and operation managers across the system.

 

Hernandez developed his interest in construction at an early age through his father. He took that passion, founded a specialty coatings company, and led the organization prior to purchasing CPSSC in 2012.

 

Before his professional pursuit of construction, Hernandez served in the United States Marine Corps. He then had a highly decorated law enforcement career in South Florida that spanned more than 10 years. Hernandez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Administration from Barry University. He also holds certifications as SSPC Protective Coatings Inspector (PCI) Level 2, SSPC Quality Control Supervisor (QCS), and Florida Department of Transportation Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT).

 

Hernandez is an active community member and has lent his support to United Way, the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots, New World School of the Arts, DANCE NOW, Miami Children’s Theater, and more.

Kyle Hough
Executive Vice President

Kyle Hough, executive vice president of Champion Painting Specialty Services Corp. “CPSSC” is a South Florida-based leader in heavy construction, specialty services, road and bridge, military, and industrial specialty services. Hough is a passionate industry leader with more than 20 years of experience in industrial coatings, which includes terminals, power, pharmaceutical, chemical/petrochemical, water and wastewater, food and beverage, theme parks, pulp and paper, commercial construction, road and bridge, cranes, cruise ships, universities, stadiums, military, and more.

 

Hough is a proven leader who excels in business and customer growth. He is a crucial member of the CPSSC senior executive leadership team. He strives to improve vice presidents and operations managers’ development and performance. Hough remains ahead of the industry trends and continues to push the boundaries and set standard expectations.

 

Hough completed his apprenticeship at a young age with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades and has worked his way up through the industry’s ranks.

 

Hough is an SSPC-certified Level 3 Protective Coatings Inspector (PCI), a C 3 Supervisor/Competent Person, a Protective Coating Specialist (PCS), and a Master Coatings Inspector (MCI).

Douglas A. Page
Senior Vice President

Douglas A. Page, senior vice president of Champion Painting Specialty Services Corp. (CPSSC) leads the specialty services division. CPSSC is a leader in heavy construction, specialty services, road and bridge, military, and industrial specialty services.

As senior vice president, Page serves on the senior executive leadership team, where he focuses on the development and performance management of vice presidents and operations managers. He also helps oversee business development and networking of relationships that support sales, staffing, and partnerships.

Page is a seasoned construction executive with more than 38 years of experience at all management levels for construction, maintenance, modifications, demolition, and plant upgrades serving the power industry — Hydro, Fossil, and Nuclear. He possesses extensive experience in petrochemical and pulp and paper facilities. He has extensive expertise in the management of P&L, emphasizing long-term revenue growth; oversight of operations, including safety, quality, human performance, site oversight, problem-solving, and client interface.

Before joining CPSSC, Page served as a executive vice president and general manager for a large national specialty services contractor. He also oversaw operations, supported business and team development and managed P&L with a focus of on long-term growth.

Page also previously served as the president of another large national specialty services contractor where he spent nearly 30 years leading the organization.

Page attended Western Michigan University. He is a member of NACE, NACE Nuclear, SSPC, ANI, and NEI

Duane Hough
Vice President of Operations

Duane Hough is the vice president of operations of south Florida-based Champion Painting Specialty Services Corp. (CPSSC), an established construction professional and leader with more than 22 years of industrial coatings experience. CPSSC is a leader in heavy construction, specialty services, road and bridge, military, and industrial specialty services. He currently leads the military outreach of CPSSC and has extensive knowledge and experience in project management, scheduling, estimating, negotiations, budget development, strategic planning, and project closeout.

In his role as vice president, Hough plays a vital role in continual business development and expansion overseas, as well as oversight of all operation, and continual oversight of quality assurance. Hough is a fundamental member of the senior executive leadership team.

Hough is an SSPC certified Level 3 Protective Coatings Inspector (PCI), a Level 2 Bridge Coating Inspector (BCI), a Level 2 Concrete Coating Inspector (CCI), a C 3 Supervisor/Competent Person, a Protective Coating Specialist (PCS), a Master Coatings Inspector (MCI), and a SSPC BCI instructor.

Prior to joining CPSSC, Hough served in the United States Marine Corps, where he led, trained, and counseled Marine Corps infantry. He is a decorated veteran, having conducted combat and humanitarian operations throughout the world.

Hough previously served as a project manager/foreman for a large national contractor. In this capacity, he managed scheduling for projects, determined labor requirements, and oversaw team members. Hough is a father to four children and, outside of work, is a philanthropist to organizations such as No Kid Hungry.

Charles Jeffrey “Jeff” Gibbons
Vice President of Business Development

Jeff Gibbons, vice president of Business Development of South Florida-based Champion Painting Specialty Services Corp. (CPSSC), focuses on the Champion Specialty Services division. CPSSC is a leader in heavy construction, specialty services, road and bridge, military, and industrial specialty services.

 

Gibbons is a seasoned construction executive with more than 29 years of experience at all management levels for construction, maintenance, modifications, demolition, and plant upgrades serving the power industry — hydro, fossil, and nuclear along with other industrial markets.

 

As vice president at CPSSC, Gibbons is involved in the direct management of strategic planning, presenting, and execution related to sales, marketing, proposal writing, estimating, and contract negotiations. He has lent his expertise to the industrial business market areas, encompassing conventional power, nuclear power, pulp & paper, chemical, food & beverage, department of defense, and department of energy industries. Gibbons is also responsible for maintaining and strengthening client relationships and developing new business opportunities for CPSSC. Gibbons is a vital member of the senior executive leadership team.

 

Prior to joining Champion, Gibbons served as vice president – operations for a large national specialty services contractor based in Georgia. He also served as project/operations manager for an industrial services company.

 

Gibbons lent his sales and marketing expertise to a universal communications company where he served as a sales and marketing director and part-owner.

 

Gibbons holds a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University. He is a member of SSPC, NACE, NACE Nuclear and NRCA.

Anthony Maracic Vice President of Roads and Bridges

Anthony Maracic, vice president of Champion Painting Specialty Services Corp. (CPSSC), has established experience in the steel and painting industry that spans a more than 38-year career. CPSSC is a leader in heavy construction, specialty services, road and bridge, military, and industrial specialty services. Maracic is a notable member of the senior executive leadership team.

 

Prior to joining CPSSC, Maracic served as vice president for a large bridge painting contractor based in New York. Maracic began his career as a young apprentice, moving up the ranks quickly due to his hard work and dedication.

 

Maracic has notably led teams in significant projects that include the Queensboro Bridge, George Washington Bridge, Williamsburg, and Manhattan Bridge Towers, Citi Field, the ceiling of Madison Square Garden, and the 1,776 ft. antenna of Manhattan’s Freedom Tower.

 

Maracic is nationally recognized for being awarded some of New York’s largest painting contracts and working with some of the state’s largest steel structures.

 

Maracic is an active member of SSPC and NACE. He is also notably a founding committee chair member of FOPAshleysCure, a nonprofit organization that supports research for Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP).
